Kids Are Asking, Too.
by Christine Slusser

A Teen Asks:

I have a "friend" who stopped hanging out with me about 6 months ago. I heard from others that he talked bad about me and was generally mean. Now, he has started coming around again and wants to renew our friendship. I really missed him at first but now I’m not so sure I want to get re-involved.

Christine is a 14 year-old high school freshman.
She responds . . .

Well, I think the question that you have to ask yourself is, is that friend really the person you want to be hanging with. Do you really need a friend who is going to go off, stop hanging out with you, and then talk bad about you? Friendship is about that special bond you form when you meet someone and you think you have a lot in common with. Friendship isn’t about what the person buys you; it’s about how they act towards you and if they are there for you.

I think if this guy just stopped being your friend for no reason, then he isn’t a friend at all. Then for him to go off and talk bad about you is even worse because then you will never know if that person is really your friend. My aunt once told me that you can’t love others until you love yourself, and he obviously isn’t showing that he cares. Those kinds of people need someone to talk about, because they feel horrible about themselves inside. Of course, it’s your first instinct to help, but they need more. I would just let time take its way through. Give him a chance to show and prove to you that he has changed. But till then, I say stay away.

Do you have a question for Christine? If you are 5-16 years old, send her an email at info.
Make sure to include Christine's name on the subject line and to include your age along with your question.

After years of conducting Link Exchange activity for my business and those of my clients I started noticing the effect this program brought to my clients. This is exactly what we did, realizing that giving time and attention to the type of companies you are contacting and industries you are targeting is imperative to the success of your Link exchange campaign. Many times I have heard that Link Exchanges work on statistics and the more you send the more links you will have.
