Christine is a 16
year-old high school junior.
She responds . . .
Well, the most difficult thing in going to school is
when you have a teacher that doesn’t want to help. Sometimes teachers are so busy in learning what they are
talking about that they don’t have time to show you.
The biggest step is making sure that you don’t hide and you tell
your teacher when you are having trouble.
Try talking to your teacher and see if you can work
something out with him/her. If
you can’t get them to help, ask one of your family members.
Sometime it’s best to ask a family member. If your family members are too busy, try to work on the
problem by looking at practices in the book.
A lot of the time the practices aren’t very clear and you still
may not understand. I think
the best thing to do is talk to your teacher and tell him/her that you are
having trouble and you need help and that you would like a tutor.
With your own tutor, it makes things a lot easier because it is one
on one.
Make sure that when you don’t understand something
that you tell your tutor that you’re still unsure.
If you still have trouble take home homework a couple nights a week
and practice as much as you can. It
is the best way to pass a class, because studying is the most important
thing to do. Your teacher
will sure appreciate the effort you are making to pass her class.
