A Teen Asks:
Everyone always says
friends are forever. That isn't always true. I've been friends with this
girl for three years now and a couple years ago I moved. She promised me
that we would be friends forever, but I haven't heard from her in a long
time. What should I do, because I know that I ne
ed her in my life?

Friends should be friends no matter what.
Sometimes it is hard to stay friends when your best friend moves away.
True friends are hard to find. I know that it can be hard when you don't
hear from a friend in a long time. You just need to decide whether you
want to stick close to that person and keep trying to get that person to
keep in touch or you can always give up.
I can image that since you are asking me about
this that, that friend means a lot to you. So you should try to keep that
person close to you. Write her a letter or call her, do what ever you can
to get this person to stay in touch. Sometimes it gets hard, because
summer comes and school starts and so much stuff is going on. Sometimes it
takes a little bit of distance to bring two close friends even closer.
I bet your friend is feeling very alone right
now, because for three years she had you to talk to, to tell you all her
problems, and to lean on your shoulder. You should take the first step and
write her. Tell her how you're feeling and how you miss her. She will feel
so good just hearing that. Your friends are one of the most precious
things that you have and you should always treat your friends right. So
take my advice and call your friend and tell her how you feel. |
